I create fresh, feel-good art. Like an oasis of peace amidst the never-ending noise and negativity around us, my art reminds you to fill your life with light and sink into a place where calmness and goodness reign.
It’s been a long road to get to this happy place. Maybe you can relate, I used to feel that something was terribly wrong with me because others didn’t always know what to do with this sensitive, introverted, gawky girl. I worried for years that I was a “lemon” -- which eventually manifested into severe health issues that derailed my career after getting my PhD in Clinical Psychology. In hindsight, those health issues forced me to learn how to live my best and happiest life.
As I watched loved ones with similar health issues focus on their pain, I realized that solely focusing on their problems kept them stuck and feeling miserable because you get MORE of whatever you focus on (brain science totally backs this up). Instead, I focused on the goodness and happiness in my life and more good things happened. I became free to try new ways of creating health and vitality.
This isn't about acting like Pollyanna or sticking your head in the sand like an ostrich. No, you'll still be aware of the problems in life and in the world. However, when you choose to focus on the good, your stress lowers which helps you find creative solutions to those problems. So instead of just feeling hopeless or stuck, you feel lighter, more free, and more powerful.
It's about making a different choice than the one most people you know will make. It's a brave choice. A radical choice. A choice that goes against the grain of our popular culture of negativity and drama. Instead of complaining and blaming, you choose to learn what you can from the situation and to focus on what's uplifting and inspiring, bringing more light into the scene. By not tearing others down, you build more life and energy into your own life -- creating the freedom to be exactly who you are and to find your own kind of happiness.
