Commissions

Imagine loving a painting so deeply that it brings tears to your eyes. Now imagine knowing that YOU were intimately involved in creating this amazing piece of art that touches your soul so deeply. Art that was designed with your tastes, preferences, and style in mind to give you the greatest amount of joy possible.

Commissioning a personalized painting is a wonderful gift to yourself because your finished artwork will be a beautiful reminder of who you are, where you've been, and how you want to "be" in this world.

To start the process, you and I will discuss our individual expectations to see if the project is a good fit for both of us. This discussion will cover your ideas, hopes, and thoughts about what you envision, as well as talking about my painting process. If we mutually decide to proceed, I'll give you an estimate and collect a 50% nonrefundable deposit to hold your place in "line" (I only do a limited number of commissions each year).

Once it's your turn in the "commission line," we'll talk more. In order to create a truly meaningful piece of art that celebrates your life and expresses who you are on a deep level, we'll discuss your likes and dislikes, any important beliefs or stories you hope to incorporate into the art, your decorating style, and which of my past paintings resonate with you. We can also chat about any mementos or keepsakes you'd like me to collage into the early layers of your painting (e.g., ticket stubs, photos, letters).

After I begin painting, it'll take approximately 6 weeks until I'm able to ship your painting. A personalized painting takes time and patience to meticulously create. It also takes time for the oil layer and varnish to dry. Hurrying only spells potential disaster for your painting during shipment. Once you've approved the painting and paid the second half of the fee, your new keepsake will be carefully packaged and on its way to you.

Creating art can be a tricky business. Remember that you chose to work with me specifically for my artistic vision and integrity. Please respect that vision. I promise you from the bottom of my heart that I'll do everything in my power to create a lasting painting you love.

I think we'll have a LOT of fun doing this together! If this sounds interesting to you, contact me and let's talk about your ideas.
